Salt Lake Tribune 4/27/01
OPINION sect: A8

by Marcia K. Noel -SLC, Utah

"Let me get this straight - the Summum belief system (Tribune, April 20th) started when Claude Nowell recieved visitations from supernatural being. So far he has gained 250,000 adherants and built a temple in SLC. He teaches nonconventional views about copulation and how to become god.
Sounds to me like - no, wait! He doesn't charge his followers 10 percent. For a moment there I thought it was the "true church", but I was wrong. It must just be another man made religion. Good thing I wasn't decieved."
